Counselling isn't about telling you what to do, it is about being listened to and through gentle questioning, establish what is important to you, without judgement, at a pace that feels right for you.

I offer you a confidential space to talk: at your own pace, with no pressure to share more than you're ready to. I am trained in person-centred counselling, which means the sessions are led by what matters to you, not a fixed structure. I listen closely, without judgement, and help you make sense of what you're feeling.
If what you're going through isn't on this list, please don't let that put you off getting in touch. I'm happy to talk it through.
For couples, I offer a confidential space to work through what's brought you here: a specific difficulty, a loss of connection, or wanting to understand each other better. My couples training is integrative, drawing on different therapeutic models to fit what each couple needs. I won't take sides, and I won't push either of you further or faster than feels comfortable. My job is to help you both slow down enough to actually hear one another.

This is my second career. I spent over 30 years in the corporate world before training as a counsellor; I still work in communications today. Alongside that, my own life experience has deepened my understanding of the pressures we all carry, in and outside of work.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling from the University of Aberdeen and I'm a qualified couples counsellor with Relationship Scotland. I'm a registered member of the BACP, working within their guidelines on confidentiality to keep what you share with me safe and private.
Whether it's stress, anxiety, a relationship under strain, or simply needing space to think things through, reaching out can take real courage. This is your time: impartial and without judgement.
Change rarely happens on a fixed timetable. Some people notice a shift after just a couple of sessions; for others it takes longer. Everyone's different, and whatever pace you need is the right one.
I'd love to hear from you.
I cannot predict what will come up, and I won't ever tell you what to do. Over time, many people find more clarity, and more trust in their own judgement.
You don't need to perform or pretend. The room is a space to lay things out exactly as they are, without worrying about how it sounds.
Everything you share stays between us, held safely within the professional boundaries of the BACP framework.

That's completely normal, and nothing to worry about. You don't need to arrive with the right words - we can start wherever feels possible, even in silence, and find our way in together.
Yes - what you share with me is confidential. I work within BACP guidelines and see a supervisor regularly to support my practice, though supervision never involves identifying details. The only exception is if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, in which case I'd talk to you first about what needs to happen next.
I am available for sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, as well as on some Saturdays. Please get in touch and we can find a time that works well for you.
My fees are £50 for individual counselling sessions and £65 for couples therapy sessions. We can also start with a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.
